Secured entry

Our building uses a controlled-access security system. Only authorized individuals may enter, and we ask that families never allow others to follow them inside. Your child’s safety starts at the front door.

Name-to-face child tracking

Name-to-face child tracking

Every time a child moves from one space to another — classroom to playground, gym to hallway — staff conducts a name-to-face check. No child is ever unaccounted for.

Cameras throughout

Security cameras cover our classrooms, hallways, and outdoor playground
areas, providing continuous monitoring for your child’s safety and your
peace of mind.

ZONO sanitizing system

Our ZONO cabinets use ozone technology to sanitize toys, cots, crib mattresses, electronics, dress-up clothes, and more — eliminating 99.9% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses with zero harsh chemicals.

Handwashing routines

Children and staff wash hands with soap and water throughout the day —
before and after meals, after outdoor play, after using the restroom, and
whenever needed. Good habits start young.

Staff certifications

Staff certifications

All staff hold current CPR and First Aid certifications, renewed every two years. Annual certifications in Blood Borne Pathogen, SIDS, and Shaken Baby prevention are required for every team member.

Illness exclusion policy

To protect all children in our care, we follow clear illness exclusion guidelines. Children must be symptom-free for 72 hours before returning, and a doctor’s clearance is required after certain contagious illnesses.

Licensed & inspected

Licensed & inspected

Little People’s Playhouse is licensed by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and undergoes a full relicensing inspection every two years. Inspection reports are available in our office for any parent to review.

Integrated pest management

We use IPM strategies that prioritize sanitation and structural maintenance over chemical treatments. Any planned pest control is scheduled when children are not present, and families are notified in advance.
