Family-Owned And Run With Love Since 1997
Little People’s Playhouse has always been more than a business—it’s been a calling. Julie grew up in Swartz Creek, Michigan, with a deep love for children and a belief that the earliest years of life are the most important. After recognizing a genuine need for high-quality, nurturing child care in the community, she opened the doors of Little People’s Playhouse in 1997—and hasn’t looked back since. For nearly three decades, Julie has dedicated herself to creating a place where every child feels safe, celebrated, and genuinely loved. Her approach to care is rooted in the same warmth she brought to raising her own family—because she knows firsthand what parents are really trusting you with when they hand over their child each morning. By Julie’s side is her husband Ben, a graduate of GMI Engineering & Management Institute—now Kettering University—whose engineering and business background is a natural fit for his role as Account Manager at Little People’s Playhouse. Ben also continues his career at General Motors, bringing the same discipline and work ethic to both. Together, they’ve built something that reflects their shared values: integrity, hard work, family, and community. Julie and Ben have been married for 28 years and raised their two sons in Fenton. Both boys attended Powers Catholic and are now proudly enrolled at Michigan State University. Go Green! That sense of roots—of raising kids well and watching them flourish—is something Julie brings to Little People’s Playhouse every single day. When you choose Little People’s Playhouse, you’re not just choosing a daycare—you’re choosing a family. And that’s exactly what Julie and Ben have spent 29 years building.
